leather and red
Hello!
My outfit post is slightly more dressy today as I went out for a friend's birthday. I was lucky enough to find my playsuit in the 'Last Chance' section of Topshop. It was the only one left and was my size! I love the cute double layer collar and floral print. I teamed it with my leather biker jacket and heeled ankle boots to add edge.

trend report: collars
Yellow shift dress, $47
Zara silk top, $80
Shell top, £45
Lace top, $60
Romper jumpsuit, $100
Asos Airtex Leather Shirt Collar, $26
Beaded Collar Green, £18
The rise of the classic collar shows no sign of stopping! Despite having been around for a while now, this is one trend that is set to continue. A collar is such a small but effective detail which can completely change the look of any outfit - I'm a huge fan! Sweet Peter Pan collars instantly add a whimsical 60s vibe, whereas a bold studded collar can add edge to s simple outfit. Detachable collars are great for updating any outfit. www.Romwe.com has some lovely ones or there are many DIY blogs for the more creative!

patterned jumper/diy collar
Hello!
Another college outfit. I love this patterned crop jumper! I added a lace collar, which I made myself! I sewed a length of black ribbon to a piece of lace, cut to size. I was quite pleased with how it ended up. The shorts are high waisted and I love the buttons. The colours in this look reflect the seasonal change to autumn!

autumn/winter 2011: Leopard Print Love
Hello! It's been a while but finally the A/W 11 collections on the High Street are re-emerging! Cosy knits, cute coats and smart boots have all been making their appearances in the past few weeks. I love A/W dressing, especially layering and chunky knitwear! A/W is my favourite season to dress!
One of my favourite prints at the moment is leopard print! It's strange because I never used to like it but all of a sudden I have fallen in love with it! Small splashes of leopard print can easily add a beautiful vintage edge to any outfit.Teamed with red lipstick, leopard print can be amazing in any outfit. Small features of an outfit such as a bag or scarf in leopard print can bring the whole look together. If you want to test the trend, I recommend leopard print shoes! Flats such as the Topshop booties and the ballet pumps are surprisingly versatile while the chunky heels are perfecr for evening outfits!

want! Dorothy Perkins
Hello again! It's been a while, so there have been quite a few changes in the summer stock on the high street. Recently, I've been surprised with Dorothy Perkins. I never really go in much but after getting my prom shoes in there, I've noticed some really lovely things I'll be going back for!

hey, i put some new shoes on
I really wish I could be posting more! I cannot wait for summer, I will be posting more regularly then :)
I recently purchased some boat (or deck?) style shoes from Topshop and I love them! They're so comfy and really versatile. I am looking out for a red or navy pair too :). You can (kind of) see them in my latest look on lookbook.nu : http://lookbook.nu/look/1910150-yesterday-was-the-time-of-our-lives
thank you!

summery hair!
It's only just getting to Spring here in the UK, but I'm loving beachy, summery hair at the moment! This braided look (which I found on Lookbook http://lookbook.nu/look/1697799-Braid-Bandit) is amazing, I'm really tempted to try it soon. And I love Sky Ferreira's long beachy waves. I love this look because it's so relaxed and carefree. It's quite easy for anyone to do and will get you in the summer mood. :)

trend report: mustard
mustard by ellesee featuring a polka dot dress
I've seen a lot of mustard yellow in the shops recently, especially Topshop. I've always been a bit wary of this colour and to be honest, I'm not sure why! Recently, I've fallen in love with it! It gives you a chance to stand out and also to ease into summer colours from the darker colours that are associated with winter. I love the way that you can mix it easily with tobacco, plum and dark green colours for an eye catching look. I especially love this Topshop dress (far right) with beautiful vintage look embroidery and pleated skirt.

peter pan collars
Peter Pan collars are a cute addition to any spring wardrobe and give off a 60's mod vibe :)
70's summer
I'm loving the 70's look that the high street chains are chanelling for summer. There are wedge sandals bright prints and floaty dresses. I love it! The nudes trend that has been popular for the last few seasons remains, but for summer, it's time to fall back in love with beautiful, virbrant prints. Prints are really versatile and can be dressed up or down easily. Hang onto last year's denim jacket to pair with floral smock dresses and wedge sandals. Add a floppy hat and sunglasses and you have a perfect look for summer 2011. It is still REALLY cold here, but I cannot wait for summer fashion!

lookbook today
It's still frrrrreezing cold here so I have many layers on! I bought these lace up ankle boots from Jones the Bootmaker and I love them! They have a small heel so add height without being uncomfortable. My duffel coat is from Monsoon Fusion and my hat is from H&M. I'm looking forward to being able to wear more spring/summer outfits as the weather improves.

Warpaint
Another music related post today about a band called Warpaint. I found them randomly on youtube and fell in love! Their music is classed as Melodramatic Popular Song / Psychedelic which is quite a good way to describe it I think. It's quite different to anything I've heard before and I definitely recommend giving them a listen! Their first song, Undertow has been stuck in my head!

The Like
I love this band! Their songs are really catchy, but most of all I LOVE their style. They have a great sixties/mod look
spring/summer! :)
It's been a long time since the shops have been filled with bright colours and pretty florals. Winter 2010/11 seems to have gone on for so long and it's a relief to see dresses and sandals in the place of chunky knitwear and boots. The high street chains are bringing in lots of new and fresh designs for the new season, even though the temperature is not quite into double degrees yet! My favourite picks for the Spring/Summer season are:
H&M Heeled Sandals, £29.99. They come in tan, coral and green. I think the tan pair are the most versatile and will be perfect to pair with summer dresses. The chunky platform heel adds height, but doesn't mean that the shoes can't be worn in the daytime. I also love this scenic print dress from New Look. It has a beautiful vintage look and would look great with light denim.
